FRANK GROSSO (as Steven Tyler) - Lead Vocals & Harp |
 |
Aerosmith - Every time someone speaks the name of the iconic band, it brings me back to the first time I heard about Aerosmtih. It was 1975 and my buddy's older brother showed me the album cover of "Toys In The Attic". I thought it was interesting, but it didnt blow me away like other albums of that time (Like KISS album covers etc). But once i heard it, I WAS blown away! I couldn't get enough! I just had to run out and get it! I saved my paper route money, waited for Saturday and made my way to the Duffering Mall to Purchase my copy of the album. I havent stopped listening to it since! It will always be in my top 10 albums of all time. |
| "Toys In The Attic" and "Rocks" are two pieces of work that make up my rock & roll history. They inspired me to do what I am doing today! My personal rock & roll history is make up of playing in cover bands, original bands (Lastrite, Hail Mary, The Change) and finally the Tribute Band scene. People often ask me "what is your favourite Aerosmith song?" I always answer with "I need to pick just one?" I can't... Although if I was ever stripped naked, had a gun pointed to my head, and really had to pick? I would have to say "Round and Round" off the "Toys In The Attic" Album. Not a popular Aerosmith song, but it KICKS ASS! |
| If Steven Tyler sticks to his words, I would love to see Aerosmith one day play "Toys In The Attic" and "Rocks" in their entirety! It would be a dream come true not only for me, but a few 100,000 other true blue Aerosmith fans. Until then I am quite content to help Steven, Joe, Joey, Brad and Tom spread their sweet emotion.... |

Dom Polito (as Joe Perry) - Guitars, Vocals |
 |
Dom joined Mama Kin in 2010 and has become an integral part of the band, molding well into the role of Joe Perry naturally.
Being a huge fan of Aerosmith Dom started out listening to Toys in The Attic and Rocks. These were two albums that had a raw energy that intrigued Dom’s ear. Previous to playing in Mama Kin, Dom mastered the musical works of various other cover bands and original bands. This took him state side for 2 years performing and living in New York City. He also has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Kim Mitchell, Burton Cummings, April Wine and Vince Neil of Motley Crue. |
| In the year 2000 Dom teamed up with singer/songwriter Eryn Vogn and co wrote the Millennium Song for the City of Toronto for the year 2000. Domenic and Eryn got to open the show at the Millennium party at the Harbourfront performing for 50,000 capacity. |
| Street festivals we’re also an integral part of Dom’s high profile gig’s including the Beaches Jazz Festival, Taste of The Danforth and Toronto Street Festival. However he is no stranger to The Kingswood Music Theatre and performed with his Latin Rock band Abolengo. As previously mentioned, Dom has performed with extensive cover bands and original bands. These groups went on to record many albums that received strong radio play. Dom is also currently involved with the highly successful concert series “Classic Albums Live”, which recreates albums from the 60’s and 70’s, note for note and cut for cut. He is the musical director for all the Led Zeppelin records and has performed Aerosmith and many other albums as well. This concert series tours all of North America and has done so since 2004. |
Being such a huge fan of Aerosmith, Dom’s qualifications have definitely aided him with the task at hand, Joe Perry. Perry’s tones are wide spread, using different guitars and amplification to achieve his sounds. Dom is a collector of vintage guitars and amps, which helps him achieve Joe Perry’s guitar tracks. Dom has always had a forensic DNA approach to music, dissecting it until the accuracy is absolutely perfect. This combined with the love of Aerosmith brings a special kind of musician to the plate.
Dom also has always been very interested in the technical aspect of recording since a young age. He owns and runs his own successful recording studio. His strengths are also in producing and composing. He produced several records for his brother’s band “Little Sunday” as well as many others. |
| Ladies and gentleman I give you "Joe Perry" |
|
PAUL HAMPSON (as Brad Whitford) - Guitars, Vocals |
 |
Paul was born in Hamilton at the height of Beatlemania. Named after his mothers favourite Beatle (Lucky for him they didnt like Ringo!), it was inevitable he was going to make his way into the music business. In 1985 Paul got his first guitar and began to emulate his idols, Randy Roads, Joe Perry, Keith Richards etc. In 1998 Paul moved to Sudbury to study guitar with concert guitarist Phillip Candelaria. He then moved to London where he recieved his degree in classical guitar from Western in 1994. Returning from studying music, Paul has played in many bands such as "Bionic" (Progressive metal, recorded PAR e.p), then in 1997 joined the band Serene (doubled as an Alanis Morrisette Tribute band "Ironic")... |
| In 1998 Paul moved to Boston where to perform and teach guitar. Returning to Canada he recorded his first full-length classical guitar CD "Through the Window". In 2000 "Jesters Mercy" was formed. The band recorded two CDs. In 2004 the G Spot Tornadoes recorded "Hymns4her" CD. In 2008 Paul joined Canada's #1 Aerosmith Tribute band - Mama Kin. |
| "My first recollection of Aerosmith was around 1978. Being a Beatles fan I actually sat through the Bee Gees movie version of Sgt. Peppers. Not exactly Oscar worthy, but at one point this band came on and did "Come Together" WOW! Who was this!?! They sounded amazing and were quite odd looking. The perfect mix to keep my attention. A coupe days later a friend played me "Toys In The Attic" and i was hooked. I ran out to get Aerosmith Greatest Hits album and never looked back." |
|
FRANK MACTAGGART (as Tom Hamilton) - Bass Guitar, Vocals |
 |
For me, Aerosmith is one of the bands that provided the sountrack to my youth. Their music takes me back to a time when my buddies and I would anxiously await their latest release and then make sure we were the first in line at the record store to pick up a copy as soon as it opened. We would rush back home and just listen to the music while each scoured the record sleeve and soaked in every detail. It was an awesome time in music history!
If you've ever seen the movie Dazed & Confused it gives you the perfect glimpse at what my teen years were like. |
| It was all about cruising in your muscle car and finding the next great party, all the while listening to some of the greatest music ever recorded and Aerosmith tops that list for me. I actually still have all my old Aerosmith records, although I've had to replace them with CD's over the years... These guys were one of the reasons I started playing the guitar - In fact, the first song I ever learned to play from start to finish was "No More No More" from "Toys In The Attic". The opening riff of that tune just spoke to me and ignited my passion for playing that I still have today. |
| Now I spend my weekends bringing the music of Aerosmith to as many people as possible. It's always a blast playing the tunes and introducing a whole new generation of fans to some of the most classic rock ever written. But dont take my word for it, put on "Toys In The Attic" or "Rocks" and if that doesn't make you and instant fan then check yourself for a pulse... |

STEVE BINDER (as Joey Kramer) - Drums, Percussion |
 |
Aerosmith like many other classic rock bands were a big influence in the music I listened to when growing up. Along with Van Halen, Zeppelin, and Deep Purple to name a few, they shaped the early years for me. I remember hearing the album "Toys in the Attic" for the first time, just like it was yesterday. It's a remarkably written and great sounding album. Joey Kramer has a very interesting style of playing, straight ahead yet technical and tasteful at the same time. Joey is an obvious mentor, and influence on how I play. We seem to have quite a similar playing style, so it's a blast re-creating the beats of Joey Kramer’s legendary performance night after night. |
| 20 years ago if somebody told me I'd be playing in an Aerosmith tribute band, I would have laughed and thought they were on glue! Previous to playing in Mama Kin Steve has played in such original bands as Sye, Attitude and The Munroes, and Canadian based Van Halen Tribute band, Yankee Rose. |
